Lucy Githieyah
Chef Lucy Githieyah is a Kenyan indigenous Foods chef, caterer, and passionate food heritage advocate who brings Kenya’s forgotten flavours and ancestral wisdom to the table. As a Lead Cook with the Slow Food Kenya Cooks’ Alliance, i champion good, clean and fair food, biodiversity, food sovereignty, nutrition, and sustainable plant-based proteins. Through culinary storytelling, traditional cooking, community training, and zero-waste practices, I reimagine and rethink Kenyan cuisine—connecting seeds, farmers, cooks, and communities. My passion is to preserve indigenous food knowledge while inspiring a new generation to see traditional foods as nutritious, sustainable, culturally rich, and essential to the future.
